Professor Govert Buijs, member of the Finance and the Common Good Advisory Council, has written an op-ed in Dutch newspaper NRC, together with Marcel Canoy and Kees van der Kooi, on the future of famous Dutch retailer HEMA. Now that HEMA is on the brink of collapse, they plea for a restructuring of HEMA to a cooperative business-model instead of “simply” providing it with government aid.
